Resolution 2016-02 - Reso. 2016-02 - Harrison liens on 920 & a half Avenue C - signed 10-6-15 - 10/6/2015RESOLUTION 2016 -02 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, ENSURING THE PAYMENT OF UNPAID PROPERTY TAXES AND APPROVING THE RELEASE OF AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $10,177.30 IN LIENS ON THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 920 1 AVENUE C; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION AND SIGN ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS. WHEREAS, The owner and representative of 920 '/x Avenue C in Huntsville, Texas, has approached the City with a desire to sell the property; and WHEREAS, The property has unpaid taxes in the amount of $1,727.54 on the property as of August 24, 2015; and WHEREAS, Of that delinquent balance, an estimated $282.28 is owed to the City of Huntsville; and WHEREAS, The property has liens placed on it by the City of Huntsville totaling $4,818.75 in principal and $6,563.24 in interest as of August 24, 2015; and WHEREAS, The assessed value of 920 V Avenue C in Huntsville, Texas, for the 2015 tax year is $1,200; and WHEREAS, It is unlikely the property will ever be sold for an amount sufficient to cover unpaid taxes and lien principal and interest NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS: Section 1: If the owner and /or legal representative of 920 'h Avenue C in Huntsville, Texas, provides the City of Huntsville with a signed Bill of Sale (or some equivalent document illustrating willing buyer, willing seller, and sales price) totaling not less than $2,932.23, with proof of taxes paid up to and through the 2014 tax year, then the City Council of the Huntsville approves the release of an amount of liens not to exceed $10,177.30, and collection of liens for an amount not less than $1,204.69. Section 2: The City Magager and City Attorney are authorized to take all appropriate action and sign necessary documents to allow the release of the amount of liens as prescribed in Section 1.
