A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION
FOR AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL PERSONNEL ACT GRANT
TO DEVELOP A PERSONNEL CLASSIFICATION AND
COMPENSATION PLAN; MAKING VARIOUS PROVISIONS
RELATED THERETO.
WHEREAS, pursuant the Intergovernmental Personnel Act of
1971, the Texas Department of Community Affairs and the U. S.
Office of Personnel Management, make available grants for the
purpose of improving local government management and manpower;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville desires to apply for a
grant to assist in the correction of the City's personnel and
classification plan:
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, that
Section 1: The City Manager is authorized and directed to make
application to the Texas Department of Community Affairs
for a grant in the amount of $10,500 pursuant the Inter-
governmental Personnel Act for a comprehensive correction
of the City's existing Classification and Compensation
Plan.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately after
its adoption by the Council.
