A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS, ADOPTING A CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT (COD) PLAN AS AN
ELEMENT OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE.
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes its responsibility for establishing a
Central Business District Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to retain the economic vitality and uniqueness
of its Central Business District; and
WHEREAS, in order to insure objectivity, consistency, and equality in meeting
the needs of the community, it is necessary to document and justify such policy
in accordance with predetermined and agreed upon goals and objectives; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Central Business District Plan as an
element of the Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Huntsville has studied,
debated and recommended the adoption of such Central Business District Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS:
THAT the Central Business District Plan attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made
a part hereof for all purposes is adopted as a component of the Comprehensive
Plan of the City of Huntsville; and
THAT such Central Business District Plan shall at all times be kept current with
regard to the needs of the City of Huntsville and reflective of the official
views of the City Council and shall be reviewed annually by the City Planning
Commission; and
THAT said Central Business District Plan shall guide the implementation of
capital improvements insofar as said projects affect the physical development of
the City.
