RESO 1988-08B - Unmarked City VehiclesRESOLUTION NO. 88 -8 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS DESIGNATING CERTAIN CITY OWNED VEHICLES AS UNMARKED VEHICLES; AND MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS AND FINDINGS RELATED THERETO. WHEREAS Tex. Rev. Civ. Stat. art. 6701m -2 generally requires all city owned vehicles to be clearly marked; and WHEREAS state law permits the governing body of a city to designate motor vehicles used by the police for purpose of performing official duties to be unmarked; and WHEREAS the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation requires that the designation of unmarked motor vehicles be made by resolution describing the motor vehicle; now therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that: Section 1: The following vehicles used by the police department of the City of Huntsville, Texas, for the purpose of performing official city police duties are hereby designated as unmarked vehicles: YEAR MAKE SERIAL NUMBER 1986 Dodge 1B3BD26D8GC199506 Section 2: The City Manager and Purchasing Agent are hereby authorized and directed to execute any and all forms necessary to receive license plates for these vehicles that do not indicate the vehicles are owned by a government agency. Section 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage by City Council.
