A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE TO
PARTICIPATE IN TEXPOOL, AS AMENDED, AND MAKING OTHER
PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO.
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville Texas by resolution dated March 6, 1990, authorized the City
to participate in a Local Government Investment Pool operated by the Treasurer of
the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS the Treasurer's office was abolished on September 1, 1996, pursuant to Acts 1995,
74th Leg. S.J.R. No. 1 and the adoption a constitutional amendment to Article IV,
§ 1 of the Texas Constitution adopted by the voters on November 7, 1995; and
WHEREAS the Interlocal Cooperation Act, Texas Government Code chapters 791 and 2256
provide for the creation of public funds investment pools to which any local
government may delegate, by contract, the authority to hold legal title as custodian
and to make investments purchased with local investment funds; and
WHEREAS the Comptroller of Public Accounts for the State of Texas has offered to enter into
a Texas Local Government Investment Pool Participation Agreement as a vehicle for
investment of local government funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that:
The City Manager, Mayor and Finance Director of the City, jointly or individually, are authorized
to execute and enter into a Texas Local Government Investment Pool Participation Agreement on
behalf of the City of Huntsville, Texas, with the Comptroller of Public Accounts of the State of
Texas, and the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company for the investment of the local funds of
the City according to the investment policies of the City.
