WHEREAS Winner's Circle, a non profit juvenile mentoring program, is a local organization
aimed at reaching juvenile offenders at their first entry into the criminal justice
system; and
WHEREAS the program seeks to work through the courts, schools, churches, and various social
services to reach at -risk youth; and
WHEREAS Winner's Circle encourages the presence of responsible, adult mentors in the lives of
youth in need, and
WHEREAS on September ib, 2oxo, former TexasA&Mfootball coach Jackie Sherrill will speak
for Winner's Circle, at their banquet and silent auction event entitled "ALife Worth
Winning."
WHEREAS citizens attending the event will have, the opportunity to learn more about and
support this important focus on the youth of Huntsville.
.NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBYPROCLAIMED, by the power bested in me as
the Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:

be declared:
"'A Life Worth Winning' Day"
in the City of Huntsville and urge all residents to participate in this worthwhile endeavor.
