PRESS RELEASE
On Thursday, April 23, 2015, officers and detectives with the Huntsville
Police Department responded to an Aggravated Robbery call in the 1600
block of Sycamore. Upon investigation it was determined that two suspects
had taken a number of items from three victims at the victims' residence.
During the offense a physical altercation occurred between the suspects and
victims. The suspects also fired a handgun during the offense but struck no
one with the gunfire. Indications are that this offense is drug related. Two
of the victims in this offense were treated by Walker County EMS for minor
injuries resulting from the physical altercation but refused transport to the
hospital.
As a result of an extensive search conducted by officers with the Huntsville
Police Department as well as the Walker County Sheriff's Office and the
Sam Houston State University Police Department, one of the two suspects
was found and arrested for Aggravated Robbery. The arrested suspect,
Xavier Waddell (DOB 05/05/1990), is currently in the Walker County Jail
and has a bond set at $20,000. The other suspect remains at large.
Detectives with the Huntsville Police Department are currently working to
identify and obtain an arrest warrant for the second suspect.
Aggravated Robbery is a first degree felony and is punishable by 5 to 99
years, or life, in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and a fine up to
$10,000.
