RESO 2000-33 - Solid Waste AdvisoryRESOLUTION NO. 2000-33 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, CREATING A SOLID WASTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO ASSIST CITY STAFF AND THE CITY'S CONSULTANT IN ORDER TO DEVELOP A SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN. WHEREAS The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) is directed by the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC) to administer solid waste grants for the development of solid waste management plans. WHEREAS The City of Huntsville received a $75,000 grant from the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) to develop a Solid Waste Management Plan. WHEREAS The Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission requires that all solid waste management plans comply with Subchapter "0" of the TNRCC's Municipal Solid Waste regulations (30 TAC Chapter 330). WHEREAS The City of Huntsville will comply with the grant requirements of H-GAC and TNRCC to form a Solid Waste Advisory Committee composed of representative(s) from city council, TNRCC, other public officials, private operators, citizen groups and other interested individuals. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1: The Mayor and city staff shall appoint a Solid Waste Advisory Committee to assist the city and the city's consulting firm to develop a Solid Waste Management Plan to serve as a guide for the city for the next twenty years. SECTION 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately. PASSED and APPROVED November 14,2000 CITY OF HUNTSVILLE William B.
