WHEREAS the conferring of an Eagle Scout is one of the highest awards that can be
bestowed upon a Boy Scout; and
WHEREAS years of dedication and commitment are required to achieve Eagle rank and
Eagle Scouts act as leaders and role models in the community; and
WWEREAS Austin Shiflet of Boy Scout Troop 114 of Huntsville, Texas has earned 30
merit badges and
WHEREAS Austin made a significant contribution to the City of Huntsville by
refurbishing a deck and installing handrails on a main bridge in Huntsville
State Park; and
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville is proud to have Austin Shiflet in the community as he
exemplifies the values that make a community strong;
NOW, THEREFORE, BEITHEREBYPROCLAIMED, by the powervested in me as
Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:

be declared: "Austin Shiflet let Day"
in the City of Huntsville and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of his
achievement and acknowledge his special contributions to our community.
