A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, APPOINTING AN ACTING CITY MANAGER
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 17, 2000; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Gene Pipes, City Manager of the City of Huntsville, Texas, is retiring effective
January 31, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is in the process of selecting a new city manager for the City,
but it is unlikely that some one will be selected and start work with the City by January 17, 2000;
and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for someone in the organization to act as city manager during an
interim period so that City functions can be performed; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
that:
SECTION 1: J. D. Schindler, Director of General Services is hereby appointed as Acting City
Manager for the City of Huntsville, Texas, effective January 17, 2000, and until a new city manager
starts work for the City of Huntsville, Texas, or revocation of this Resolution by the City Council.
SECTION 2: This Resolution becomes effective from and after the date of its passage.
