A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
CREAT{NG AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLANNING TASK FORCE TO
ASSIST WITH SELF-ASSESSMENT, PLANNING AND ENHANCEMENT OF THE LOCAL
ECONOMY AND MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVtStONS RELATED THERETO.
WHEREAS our vision for the City of Huntsville is to have a community that is beautiful, historic, culturally
diverse, affordable, safe with great opportunity for our citizens; and
WHEREAS the category for great opportunity can include economic development to increase the tax
baae, and/or job opportunities; citizen participation; and facilitate education or job skill
development for the work force; and
WHEREAS the Entergy Team City program is designed to involve a task force of local elected and
appointed officials, key city employees and representatives from various community groups
and key segments of the population; and
WHEREAS Entergy has completed the analysis of a community audit and at this point, oCouncil
appointed task force is needed to draft an economic development strategic plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
THAT:
Section 1:
There is hereby appointed a task force that will assess the City's strengths and weaknesses
and draft an economic development strategic plan to be submitted to Council with goals and
action steps aimed at enhancing the Iocal economy and quality of Iife.
Section 2: The task force shall be composed of the foliowing members:
