A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
APPROVING CITY OF HUNTSVILLE FLOOD MITIGATION PLAN; AND DECLARING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the National Flood Insurance Reform Act (NFIRA) of 1994 authorized the
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide grants to communities to assist them
in developing and updating Flood Mitigation Plans (FMPs); and
WHEREAS, one requirement to participate in the Flood Mitigation Assistance program is
the creation and adoption of a FMP; and
WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville received a grant to prepare a FMP and engaged the
services of Klotz Associates to develop a FMP for the City; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
that:
SECTION 1: The City of Huntsville Flood Mitigation Plan prepared by Klotz Associates and
attached hereto as an Exhibit is hereby adopted by the City as its Flood Mitigation Plan.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective from and after the date of its passage.
