RESO 2002-01 - Designating rights to Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant funds to Walker CountyRESOLUTION 2002 -01 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, WAIVING THE CITY'S RIGHTS TO JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY INCENTIVE BLOCK GRANT FUNDS; AND MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO. WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville is eligible to apply for $9,919 in Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Funds (conditioned on a $1,102 match); and WHEREAS, the City desires to waive its right to apply for a direct grant of funds, but would like to designate Walker County as the recipient of the allocated amount; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that: Section 1. The City of Huntsville waives it right to apply for a direct grant of funds in the amount of $9,919 under the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Funds program. Section 2. The City of Huntsville requests that Walker County receive the full amount of the funds waived by the City. Section 3. The City of Huntsville agrees to participate in the Juvenile Crime Enforcement Coalition created by the county that is to receive the waived funds. Section 4. The City of Huntsville designates its Mayor and City Manager as its representatives to serve on the county's Juvenile Crime Enforcement Coalition. Section 5: The City Secretary is directed to provide copies of this resolution to Walker County. Section 6. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
