RESO 2003-23 - Apply for Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant fundsRESOLUTION 2003 -23 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, ASSERTING THE CITY'S RIGHTS TO JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY INCENTIVE BLOCK GRANT FUNDS; AND MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Huntsville, Walker County, Texas that the Structured Compliance and Intervention Program (SCIP) be operated for the year 2004; and WHEREAS, WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville is eligible to apply for $13,735 in Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Funds (conditioned on a $1,526 match); and the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Governor's Criminal Justice Division funds, the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas assures that the funds will be returned to the Governor's Criminal Justice Division in full; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas designates the City Manager as the grantee's authorized official, who is given the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency; and WHEREAS, the City desires to apply for a direct grant of funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that: Section 1. The City of Huntsville will apply for a direct grant of funds in the amount of $13,735 under the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Funds program and agrees to provide the matching funds in the amount of $1,526. Section 2. The City of Huntsville agrees to participate in the Structured Compliance and Intervention Program with the grant funds. Section 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately.
