A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, DISBANDING THE SISTER CITY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville was previously a member of Sister Cities International and
was Sister City with Niiharu Village, Japan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution 97 -16, created a Sister City Council to advise the
City Council on Sister City relationships; and
WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville's membership with Sister Cities International lapsed; and
WHEREAS, the City of Huntsville has become aware that Niiharu Village is merging into
another municipality in Japan and will no longer exist as an independent entity; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: The Sister City Council for the City of Huntsville, Texas, is disbanded.
SECTION 2: Resolution No. 97 -16 is repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon it tion by City Council.
