A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, DECLARING
INTENT TO NAME THE FUTURE (NORTH EAST SIDE) FIRE STATION; AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, H. B. Toney, former City of Huntsville Fire Marshall and Chief of
the Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department, is the only Huntsville firefighter to have given
his life in the line of duty, on March 14, 1977; and
WHEREAS, H. B. Toney paid this highest price of providing safety services to
the citizens of Huntsville;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that:
SECTION 1: The future fire station to be built on the north east section of the
City of Huntsville will be named in memory of H. B. Toney.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective from and after the date of its
passage.
