ORD 1981-23 - Fire Ladder Pumper TruckORDINANCE NO. 81- 23 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION FOR A LADDER PUMPER TRUCK; AND MAKING VARIOUS PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1: The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause to be published a notice to issue Certificates of Obligation in substantially the following form: NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of Huntsville, Texas, will meet in the City Hall, City of Huntsville, at 7 :00 p.m. on March 31, 1981, to adopt an ordinance authorizing the issuance of the City's Certificates of Obligation, payable from City ad valorem taxes, in the maximum principal amount of $160,000, bearing interest at any rate or rates not to exceed the maximum interest rate now or hereafter authorized by law, as shall be determined within the dis- cretion of the City Council, and maturing over a period of years not to exceed four (4) years from the date thereof, for the purpose of evidencing indebtedness of the City for all or any part of the cost of one (1) ladder pumper truck. Section 2: The notice set forth in Section 1 shall be published once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in a paper that is of general circulation in the City of Huntsville and that has been duly designated as the official newspaper of the City. The date of first publication shall not be less than fourteen (14) days prior to the date set in said notice for authorizing the issuance of Certificates of Obligation. Section 3: It is hereby officially found and determined that the need of the City for such ladder pumper truck and such financing creates an emergency and an urgent public necessity for the consideration of the adoption of this ordinance in accordance with the notice of meeting relating hereto. Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage. INTRODUCED, READ, AND PASSED by the unanimous vote of Council on this 10 i- day of ARCS; , 1981.
