AN ORDINANCE OF THE CRY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 99-08, WHICH
CREATED THE HUNTSVILLE BEAUTIFICATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE, BY REPLACING SECTIONS 1A and 1B WITH NEW
SECTIONS 1A and 1B, AND MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council previously adopted Ordinance No. 99-08 creating the Huntsville Beautification Advisory
Committee ("Board") to enhance the beauty and upkeep of the City and its areas;
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the number of members required to promote efficiency of Board actions and
this purpose can be accomplished by replacing Sections la and 1 b of Ordinance 99-08 with new Sections la and 1 b;
and
WHEREAS, notice of the agenda for this meeting, was given in accordance with law by posting the same at the place
reserved and designated for notices of public meetings and public activities and prior to the adoption of this
ordinance.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that:
SECTION 1: The facts and matters set forth in the preamble of this Ordinance are found to be true and correct
and are hereby adopted, ratified, and confirmed.

Ordinance No. 99-08 is amended by replacing Sections la and 1 b with new Sections 1 a and 1 b as
SECTION la: Section la of Ordinance 99-08 is hereby amended to read:
Creation; number of members. The committee provided for herein shall be comprised of six nine
members to be recommended by the Mayor and approved by City Council. The name of the
committee may be changed or amended by resolution of the City Council.
SECTION lb: Section lb of Ordinance 99-08 is hereby amended to read:
Terms staggered. The term of each committee member shall be two (two) years. Three of the
original positions on the board shall be replaced or reappointed in one year, all other positions shall
be replaced or reappointed in the alternate year.
SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances that are in conflict or inconsistent with the provisions of this
Ordinance shall be, and the same are hereby, repealed, and ail other ordinances of the City not in conflict with the
provisions of this Ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4: Should any paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or section of this Ordinance be adjudged or held
to be unconstitutional, illegal or invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of this Ordinance as a whole or any part
or provision thereof, other than the part so declared to be invalid, illegal or unconstitutional.
SECTION 5. The City Council finds that notice was posted and the ordinance was passed in accordance with
the Texas Open Meetings Act.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after the date of its passage in accordance
with Article 4.15 of the City Charter. The City Secretary shall attach this Ordinance to Ordinance 99-08.
