SPEC CALLY DESIGNATES ADD,TTIONAL AREAS IN
THE C Y Off' HUNTSVILLE IN WHICH RATES OF SPEED
OF THIRTY (30) MILES PER HOUR OR MORE ARE
AUTHORIZED; RESCINDING ALL PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING THAT ATTEN-
DANT FACTS NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE ACTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE:
SECTION I. That any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances relating to speed
zones on the west frontage road of IH 45 in the City of Huntsville are hereby
rescinded, and the following are additional specifically designated areas in which
a rate of speed of thirty (30) miles per hour or more is authorized.
(a) IH 45 west frontage road for traffic moving in a northerly
direction for the first 2.888 mile from the south city
limits the speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles per
hour. For the next 0.450 mile the speed limit shall be
forty (40) miles per hour. For the next 1.373 mile the
speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the
next 0.450 mile the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles
per hour. For the next 1.532 mile the speed limit shall
be fifty (50) miles per hour to the intersection with
US 75.
For traffic moving in a southerly direction, from the
intersection of US 75 for the first 1.532 mile, the speed
limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next 0.450
mile the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour.
For the next 1.373 mile the speed limit shall be fifty (50)
miles per hour. For the next 0.450 mile the speed limit
shall be forty (40) miles per hour. For the next 2.888 mile
the speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour to the
south city limits.

SECTION II: WHEREAS, the preservation of the general welfare of the public necessitates
immediate action, this Ordinance shall be effective from and after the date of its
passage as provided by the Charter of the City of Huntsville.
