ORDINANCE RELATING' TO SPEED ZONES WHICH
CIFICALLY DESIGNATES ADDITIONAL AREAS IN
TfIE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE IN WHICH RATES OF
SPEED OF THIRTY (30) MILES PER HOUR OR MORE
ARE AUTHORIZED; RESCINDING ALL PARTS OF ORDI-
NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING
THAT ATTENDANT FACTS NECESSITATE IMMEDIATE
ACTION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE:
SECTION I. That any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances relating to speed
zones on the east frontage road of IH 45 in the City of Huntsville are hereby
rescinded, and the following are additional specifically designated areas in
which a rate of speed of thirty (30) miles per hour or more is authorized.
(a) IH 45 east frontage road for traffic moving in a
northerly direction for the first 0.740 mile from the
intersection with the crossover of an interchange on
IH 45, located adjacent to the Goree State Prison Farm,
the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour.
For the next 1.465 mile the speed limit shall be fifty
(50) miles per hour. For the next 0.450 mile the speed
limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour. For the next 1.373
mile the speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour.
For the next 0.420 mile the speed limit shall be forty
(40) miles per hour., For the next 1.280 mile the speed
limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next
0.300 mile to the intersection of US 75 the speed limit
shall be forty (40) miles per hour.

For traffic moving in a southerly direction, for the
first 0.300 mile from the intersection of US 75, the
speed limit shall be forty (40) miles per hour. For
the next 1.280 mile the speed limit shall be fifty (50)
miles per hour. For the next 0.420 mile the speed limit
shall be forty (40) miles per hour. For the next 1.373
mile the speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour.
For the next 0.450 mile the speed limit shall be forty
(40) miles per hour. For the next 1.465 mile the speed
limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour. For the next
0.740 mile the speed limit shall be forty (40) miles
per hour to the intersection of the crossover of an
interchange of IH 45, located adjacent to the Goree
Prison Farm.

ACTION II. WHEREAS, the preservation of the general welfare of the public necessitates
immediate action, this Ordinance shall be effective from and after the date of its
passage as provided by the Charter of the City of Huntsville.
