AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
REDESIGNATING THE 16TH STREET STREET THAT INTERSECTS AVENUE H AND
HIGHWAY 19 AS BEARKAT BOULEVARD; DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN
THE STREETS APPROPRIATELY; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
RELATED THERETO.
WHEREAS, two streets presently exist with the name 16th Street; and
WHEREAS, City Council desires to minimize potential confusion in
provision of police, fire and emergency services that can result from
having 16th streets;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
that:
Section 1. The name of the 16th Street that intersects Avenue H and
extends from such intersection to Highway 19 (as marked in orange on the
map attached hereto as Exhibit "A ") be renamed, redesignated and called
Bearkat Boulevard.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to erect or cause to be
erected appropriate street signs to reflect the name change.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after
passage.
