ORD 1985-33 - Reward Vandal ConvictionORDINANCE NO. 85 -33 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING A REWARD; AND MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS AND FINDINGS RELATED THERETO. WHEREAS, under the provisions of Texas Revised Penal Code § 28.03, a person commits an offense if that person knowingly damages the tangible property of the owner without the effective consent of the owner; and WHEREAS on November 25, 1985, and again on December 2, 1985, some person or persons engaged in such criminal mischief by breaking windows and glass doors of businesses in the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that: Section 1: There is hereby fixed and authorized payment of the cash amount of FIVE HUNDRED AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($500.00 ) for the arrest and conviction of any persons found guilty of commiting the crime of criminal mischief (Texas Penal Code ss 28.03) within the corporate limits of the City of Huntsville, Texas, on November 15, 1985, or December 2, 1985, by destroying the glass windows or glass doors by using small round projectiles; said reward, however, shall not apply to any officer or employee of the City, County, or State, who makes such arrest or report in the discharge of his official duties. Unless sooner revoked by notice published in the Huntsville Item, this offer of reward will terminate at 4:30 p.m. on the 24th day of November , 19 87. Section 2: The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to post placards and notices in City buildings or elsewhere to show that such reward has been offered as above described. Section 3: This reward is a standing offer, and shall be paid out of the General fund of the City of Huntsville, Texas. Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas. PASSED AND APPROVED this the ,3 day of ATTEST: 1985.
