AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS REDISTRICTING COUNCIL WARDS NUMBERS 1,
3 AND 4 BY THE ADDITION-OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES; AND
PROVIDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREROF.
WHEREAS Section 4.04 of the City Charter provides that City Council may
redistrict its four wards; and
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
that:
Section 1: Council Ward Number ONE is hereby restricted to include the
following property:
Beginning at the intersection of the west City limits line and at
S.H. 30;
thence east along the middle of S.H. 30 to its intersection with
Normal Park Drive;
thence south along the middle of Normal Park Drive to its
intersection with 19th Street;
thence east along the middle of 19th Street to its intersection
with Sam Houston Avenue;
thence north along the middle of Sam Houston Avenue to its
intersection with 16th Street;
thence east along the middle of 16th Street to University Avenue
to Hwy 190 (11th Street);
thence west along the middle of llth Street to its intersection
with Avenue Q;
thence north along the middle of Avenue Q (Hwy 75 North) to its
intersection with FM 2821;
thence east along FM 2821 to its intersection with Rosenwall
Road;
thence north along Rosenwall Road to the North City limits
boundary;
thence west and south along the City limits to the place of
beginning.
Section 2: Council Ward Number THREE is hereby redistricted to include
the following property:
Beginning at the intersection of the east City limits line and
U.S. Hwy 190;
thence west along U.S. Hwy 190 east (11th Street) past its
intersection with Hwy 75 to its intersection with Avenue Q;
thence north along Avenue Q (Hwy 75 North) to its intersection
with FM 2821;
thence east along FM 2821 to its intersection with Rosenwall
Road;
thence north along Rosenwall Road to its intersection with the
north City limits boundary;
thence east and south to the place of beginning.
Section 3: Council Ward FOUR is hereby redistricted to include the
following property:
Beginning at the intersection of US Hwy 190 and the east City
limits line thence west along US Hwy 190 east (11th Street) to
its intersection with University Avenue;
thence south along the middle of University Avenue to 16th
Street;
thence east along 16th Street to its intersection with Avenue I;
thence south along the middle of Avenue I or the old Avenue I
right -of -way to the intersection of Avenue I and Sam Houston
Avenue (Hwy 75 South);
thence south along Sam Houston Avenue to Montgomery Road;
thence south and west along Montgomery Road to its intersection
with Interstate Highway 45 and FM 1374;
thence south and west along FM 1374 to its intersection with the
south line at the J. Cox Survey, said point also being the City
limit line as established by Ordinance 80 -49 dated 10- 14 -80;
thence north and west along the south line of the J. Cox Survey
to the existing southwest boundary line of the City;
thence east and north to the place of beginning.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council.
