AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AMENDING ARTICLE VII, RATES, OF
CHAPTER 9, GARBAGE, REFUSE AND RUBBISH, OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, ALTERING
THE RATES FOR REFUSE COLLECTED BY THE CITY; MAKING
VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND
PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that:
Section 1: Chapter 9, Garbage, Refuse and Rubbish, of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Huntsville, Texas, is hereby amended by the repeal of
Article VII, Rates, as presently constituted, and by the adoption of a
new Article VII that shall read as follows:
ARTICLE VII. RATES.
Section 9 -70. Residential Collection Charges.
The following monthly charges shall be assessed and collected from
the owner or occupants of each residential unit for refuse and garbage
collection services:
Single family residential pickup,
minimum charge $ 8.80
Multi- family residential pickup
a. individually metered units,
per dwelling unit per month . $ 8.80
b. jointly metered units:
(1) Collected without dumpster,
per dwelling unit per month . $ 8.80
(2) Collected with dumpster, per
dwelling unit per month . . . $ 7.90
Sec. 9 -71. Commercial collection charges.
Commercial establishments shall be charged for city collection of
garbage, trash and rubbish at the following rates:
Business, minimum charge $11.65
2 yard container, per month, per pickup per week . .
3 yard container, per month, per pickup per week . .
4 yard container, per month, per pickup per week . .
6 yard container, per month, per pickup per week . .
8 yard container, per month, per pickup per week . .
20 yard container, per month, per pickup per week .

Sec. 9 -72. Landfill fees.
There shall be charged, for use of the city landfill, the following
fees:
Basic fee, per loose cubic yard $ 1.25
Minimum fee $ 1.25
White Goods (refrigerators, stoves, etc.) $ 5.00
Tires, small $ 2.00
Tires, large $ 5.00
Large dead animal (cows, horses, etc.,), each . . $ 20.00
Small dead animal (Dogs, cats, etc.), each . . . $ 2.00
Compacting vehicles $ 1.25
X manufacturers' capacity of truck
X manufacturers' compaction ratio
Trees, stumps, large limbs $ 10.00
Plus, per cubic yard $ 1.25
Sec. 9 -73. Elkins Lake charges.
Residents of Elkins Lake shall be charged for collection of refuse
and garbage at the following rate:
Single - Family residential pickup, per month . . . . $ 11.00
Sec. 9 -74. Rates for Other Out -of -Town Service.
There shall be assessed and collected from persons provided refuse
and garbage collection services outside the corporate limits of the City
the following monthly charges:
A. Within one mile of city limits:

4 yd. container, per month, per pickup per week . . $ 61.20
6 yd. container, per month, per pickup per week . . $ 87.90
