ORD 1990-19 - Adopt Operating & Capital Improvements Budget 09-18-1990ORDINANCE NO. 90 -19 AN ORDINANCE FINDING THAT ALL THINGS REQUISITE AND NECESSARY HAVE BEEN DONE IN PREPARATION AND PRESENTMENT OF AN ANNUAL BUDGET; APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE OPERATING AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, FOR THE PERIOD OCTOBER 1, 1990 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 1991; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS the Charter of the City of Huntsville, Texas, and the statutes of the State of Texas require that an annual budget be prepared and presented to the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, prior to the beginning of the fiscal year of such City, and that a public hearing be held prior to the adoption of such budget; and WHEREAS the budget for the year October 1, 1990, through September 30, 1991, has been presented to the City Council, a public hearing has been held with all notice as required by law, and all comments and objections have been considered; and WHEREAS a copy of the proposed budget has been filed with the City Secretary and available for public inspection at least fifteen days prior to the budget hearing and tax levy for the fiscal year 1990 -1991; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that: SECTION 1: The budget for the City of Huntsville, Texas, now before the City Council for consideration, is adopted as the budget for said City for the period of October 1, 1990, through September 30, 1991. SECTION 2: The appropriation for the ensuing fiscal year for the operations budget shall be fixed and determined as follows: I. General Fund II. General Debt Service Fund III. Water and Sewer Fund IV. Sanitation Fund V. Design Engineering Fund Total Operating Funds $ 6,583,698 687,364 5,842,881 1,910,540 561,415 $15,585,898 SECTION 3: The appropriation for the ensuing fiscal year for the capital improvement budget shall be fixed and determined as follows: I. Street Improvements II. Water & Sewer Projects III. Drainage Improvement Projects IV. Downtown Project Total Capital Improvements $ 752,124 2,765,323 147,121 274,500 $ 3,939,068 SECTION 4: The City Secretary is directed to maintain a copy of the adopted budget, to file a copy thereof with the City Library and the County Clerk, and to publish a notice indicating the availability of the budget. SECTION 5: This ordinance shall take effect immediately after its passage.
