Contact: Kristi Glasgow, Children's Coordinator Huntsville Public Library 1219 13th Street Huntsville, Texas 77340 936-291-5910 Spring Break Activities at the Huntsville Public Library On Monday, March 9, the library will have a preschool movie at 10:30 a.m. in the Children's Room. This movie is appropriate for preschool ages and is rated G. The library will celebrate Teen Tech Week beginning with Go Animate Photography on Monday, March 9th and an Audacity Audio Editing Program on Tuesday, March 10th. These classes are appropriate for ages 13-17. Both classes are from 2:00-3:30 p.m. in the Community Room. On Tuesday, March 10th at 10:30 a.m. there will be a live Candy Land game in the Community Room. This game is for all ages. The library will have its regular story time on Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. The theme will be St Patrick's Day and Rainbows. Also on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Community Room, there will be a special program just for Spring Break, featuring Belinda Henry, The Creature Teacher. During this program Creature Teacher will feature eight exotic animals, including Chester the Hedgehog, Lilo the Sugar Glider, Paisley the Prairie Dog, Spice the Chinchilla, Slinky the Ferret, Scooter the Giant African Spurred Tortoise, Bullwinkle the Python, and Dino the Bearded Dragon. The library will offer a teen craft activity, Altered Books, on Wednesday, March 11th at 3:30 p.m., in the Community Room. Dress for messy play(craft aprons will be provided for the children as well). Thursday's Teen activity will be clock making from old LPs and CDs. The activity will take place in the Community Room at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12th Also on Thursday, March 12th will be the monthly Family Movie Night at 5:30 p.m., sponsored by Texas Children's Health Plan. All movies are rated G or PG and complementary drinks and popcorn will be served. On Friday, March 13th, the library will have an Elementary Craft at 10:30 p.m., on making Lava Lamps. This activity will be in the Community Room and is for children ages 5-12. The last Spring Break event for teens will feature a movie marathon from 12:00-5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13. Complimentary drinks and popcorn will be served. Movies will be appropriate for teen audiences and will be rated PG or PG-13.
