AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, DEFINING THE METHOD OF DETERMINING
KINSHIP FOR PURPOSES OF THE CITY CHARTER; AND MAKING
OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Title 1, Charter, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Huntsville, Texas,
is hereby amended by the adoption of a new part 2.01.21, Nepotism, that
shall read as follows:
2.01.21. Nepotism.
a. This section applies only to relationships proscribed by the nepotism provisions of the City
Charter. Huntsville City Charter 14.10.
b. The degree of relationship by consanguinity or by affinity is computed by the civil law method.
Texas Government Code chapter 573, as amended.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption by City Council.
