ORD 1999-22 - Amending Title 20 08-31-1999ORDINANCE NO. 99 -22 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AMENDING TITLE 20, MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC, OF ITS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY REPEALING PARKING LIMIT ZONES ON 10TH STREET; REPEALING NO PARKING ZONE ON 201/2 STREET; ESTABLISHING NO PARKING ZONES ON BRUNCH AVENUE, SYCAMORE AVENUE, AVENUE H, AND AVENUE N; PROVIDING STOP SIGNS ON GROVESHIRE AT THE INTERSECTION WITH EAST GREENBRIAR; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1 Street Name 10" Street 10' Street The following described curb zones are repealed as parking limit zones: Side of Street North North Limits Avenue O to 30' west of Avenue O Avenue P to 135' west of Avenue P Type 10 Min. Load Zone 5 Min. Load Zone Section 2: The following described curb zones are repealed as no parking zones: Street Name Side of Street Limits Type 20 % Street North Avenue N % to 20`" Street No Parking Zone Section 3: The following described curb zones and areas are designated as no parking zones: Street Name Side of Street Limits Type Brunch Avenue Both S.H. 75 North to 190' north No Parking Anytime of S.H. 75 North Sycamore Avenue West 390' north of Palm Street to No Parking Anytime 957' north of Palm Street Avenue H East Bowers Boulevard to 17`" St. No Parking Anytime Avenue N East 20`" Street to 21" Street No Parking Anytime Section 4: The following described intersections are designated as stop intersections: Intersection At Designated Groveshire East Greenbriar I -Way Stop Section 5: Schedule III, No Parking Zones, of Title 20, Motor Vehicles and Traffic, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Huntsville, Texas, shall be revised to reflect the amendments made by this ordinance. Section 6: Schedule IV, Parking Limit Zones, of Title 20, Motor Vehicles and Traffic, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Huntsville, Texas, shall be revised to reflect the amendments made by this ordinance. Section 7: Schedule VIII, Stop Intersections, of Title 20, Motor Vehicles and Traffic, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Huntsville, Texas, shall be revised to reflect the amendments made by this ordinance. Section 8: The City Manager is authorized and directed to cause the posting of proper signs along the above described streets and parking zones. Section 9: It shall be unlawful for driver of a vehicle to disobey the instruction of the signs placed in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance unless at the time otherwise directed by a Police Officer. Section 10: Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this ordinance or failing to comply with any requirement of the ordinance will be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine of up to five hundred ($500.00) dollars upon conviction. Section 11: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect any of the remaining provisions of this ordinance. Section 12: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed; provided, however, that such repeal shall be only to the extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects this ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance. Section 13: This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days after its passage by the City Council. The City Secretary shall publish the caption of this ordinance in the official City newspaper at least twice within ten (10) days of its passage. } PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 31ST DAY OF AUGUST, 1999.
