AN ORDINANCE LEVYI-i\?G TAXES UPON TACABLE PROPERTY LOCATED
WIT_ =IN AND SUBJECT TO TAXATION IN THE CITTY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS, INCLUDING A POLL TAX IN A_LE BODIED CITIZENS OVER
THE AGE OF T'&LITTY -ONE YEARS, ACID NOT OVER SIXTY YEARS OF AGE
ON THE FIRST SAY OF JANUARY, 1$4,5 AND ALSO INCOUDING
OCCUPATION TAXES, AND DACLARING Aid EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAII\?ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE IN COUNCIL
ASSEMBLED.
SECTION ONE: That there is hereby levied, for the cutrent year on all
real property situa ted and all personal property owned within the lim-
its of said City of Huntsville, Texas, on the first hay of January 1945
except so much as may be excepted under the cmnstitution and laws of this
State or the United Stated, the Following taxes.
(1). An advalorem tax of and at the ratd of 50 cents o$ the One -
Hundred (`100.00) D61lars cash Value thereof, estimated in lawful curr-
ency of the United Stated for the current expenses for the support and
maintenance of the City Government of said City of Huntsville, Texas.
(2). An adlalorem tax of and at the rate of 75 cents on the One
Hundred Dollars, 4'(100.00) Cash vague thereof estimated inlawful currency
of the Unt ted Stated, to pay current interest 6n and provide one Year's
sikking fund and to pay all of the principal and interest accuring on
all outstanding Warrants, sewerage, bonds, paving bonds, Funding Warrants
Sewer Extensions, Improvement Bonds, and. Warrants, City Hall and Fire
Station Warrants, and any and all other bonds and Warrants outstanding
therefore lawfully issued by the City of Huntsville, Texas, and which are
now valid outstanding obli,ations of the Aaid City of Huntsville, Texas.
(3). An annuel advalorem tax of and at the rate of 5 cents on the
One aundred Dollars cash value thereof, estimated in lawful currency of
the United States, for the purpose of the support and maintenance of the
Fire Denartment withorized by law at an election held thereunder and the
ordinance of the City of Huntsville, Texas.
(4). An occupation tax on all person, firms and corporations doing
business within the City of Huntsville, Texas eq ual to one -half of
that provided by law for occupation tax due and payable to the State of
Texas, and including all amendments of Article 7047 of the Revised St&-
tutes of 1925, and other amendments thereto.
(5). A poll tax of One ('.1.00) Dollar on every inhabitant of Said
City of Huntsville, Texas over the age of Twenty -one (21) years and not
over sixty (60) years of ale in the first day of Uanurarzy.
SECTION TWO: The above and foregoing ordinance was referred to the F &-
nance Commitee on open Council at the Regular Recessed meeting of the
City Council held on the da.y ?Z--T' 1945.

nee was referred, have duly consedered the same, recommending that the
said fore -,oing srdanance, levying taxes for the year of 1945, be adapted.
