ORD 2001-15 - Garbage Amendments 06-05-2001ORDINANCE NO. 2001-15 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AMENDING TITLE 14 GARBAGE, REFUSE AND RUBBISH OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE AMENDING PART 14.07 RATES; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, that: SECTION 1: Part 14.07 Rates is hereby amended as follows: Part 14.07 RATES* Sections: 14.07.00E Editor's Note to Chapter 14.07. 14.07.01 Residential collection charges. 14.07.02 Commercial collection charges. 14.0 Z 03 Disposal fees. 14.07.04 Rates for other out-of-town service. Section 14.07.00E Editor's Note to Chapter 14.07. *Editor's note--Ord. No. 91-23, § 3, adopted Sept. 3, 1991, amended the Code by amending prior code Art. VII [Part 14.071 to read as herein set out in prior code §§ 9-70--9-74 [14.07.01 -- 14.07.051. Prior to inclusion of said ordinance, prior code Art. VII, §§ 9- 70 - -9 -74 pertained to similar subject matter and derived from Ord. No. 82-4, § 1, adopted Feb. 16,1982; Ord, No. 82-21, § 1, adopted Sept. 14, 1982; Ord. No. 83-34, § 1, adopted Sept. 6, 1983; Ord. No. 87-27, § 1, adopted Sept. 22, 1983; Ord. No. 89-24, § 3, adopted Sept. 12, 1989. Section 14.07.01 Residential collection charges. The following monthly charges shall be assessed and collected from owners or occupants of each residential unit for refuse and garbage collection service: Single family residential pickup: minimum charge $15.50 /month Multi-family residential pickup: A. individually metered units - collected without dumpster - collected with dumpster B. jointly metered units - collected without dumpster - collected with dumpster Business minimum (collected without dumpster) $15.50%ccupied dwelling unit per month $13.18 /occupied dwelling unit per month $15.50 1dwelling unit per month Cost of service by size of container usage per month $19.38 /month (Ord. The rate design for compactor roll -off containers does not include a cost for containers since the customers own their own containers. Rates for customers located outside the City limits are calculated in the same manner as rates developed for customers located within the City, however, a multiplier of 1.25 shall be applied to the four cost components. F Footnotes 1. Extra pick -up: Charge for servicing a roll -off one extra time. This charge applies to customers on a regular schedule and to customers who are on a call in schedule. For customers on a call -in schedule, the extra pickup charge will only be applied to the second and subsequent collections during a month. 2. Call -in: This charge is for customers who do not have regularly scheduled service, but do request service during the month. This charge only applies to the first collection during a month. Following collection charges will be based on the extra pickup rate. 3. Stand -by: This charge is for customers who do not have regularly scheduled service, and do not request service during a month. 4. Unscheduled: This charge is for customers who do not have regularly scheduled service, and do not request service during a month. G.
