AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PEDDLI.,G AND SELLIN OF 1 ERCHANDIM
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LINTS OF TIT CITY OF HUiNMIVILLE,TEXAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COL1?CIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. It shall hereafter be unlawfdl for any person to ;
use the streets or alleys embraced with in the corporate limits
of the City of Huntsville, Texas, fcr the purpose of vending or
displaying gocds,wares,merchandise,or produce,cr other articles,
or for the purpose of peddling goods, rare s,merchandi se, produce,
or other articles:
PROVIDED,however,that this section shall nct apply
to any person who himself offers for sale any product raised
or grown upon the property owned or rented by him, or under h-".:3
control,
Section -2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall be ce;i ilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
shall be fined in any sum not less than one (J1.) Dollar,and
not to e .teed twenty -five( 25. ) Dollars.
Section 3. 71hereas,the use of the Iliblic Streets by peddlers ,
and venders of stares and merchandise, creates an imperative
Xblic necesoity,that the rule which requires ordinances tg¢ be
read at three separate meetings, be suspended and the same is
hereby susj5ended,and this ordinance shall tal-e effect and become
of force from and after its - assage and legal jublication.
