PROCLAMATION NO. 2009-08
WHEREAS the conferring of the rank of Eagle Scout is one of the highest awards that can be bestowed upon a Boy Scout; and
WHEREAS such an award is earned
as a result of performing and successfully completing the rigid requirements exacted to achieve an Eagle Scout Award; and
WHEREAS as his Eagle Service Project, Ian Nicolay directed
a team of scouts in a landscaping project at First Christian Church of Huntsville; and
WHEREAS on August 13, 2008, Ian Nicolay achieved Eagle Scout Rank; and
WHEREAS at a Court of
Honor to be held at the Robert A. Josey Boy Scout Lodge in Huntsville, Texas on Sunday, April 5, 2009, an Eagle Award will be conferred upon Ian Elliott Nicolay; and
WHEREAS the City
of Huntsville hereby recognizes this noteworthy achievement of Ian Nicolay. Ian characterizes the values that make a community strong through those values taught and nurtured through
the Boy Scouts: to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the
power vested in me as Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that
April 5, 2009
be declared as :
“Ian Elliott Nicolay Day”
in Huntsville, Walker County, Texas and hereby congratulate
and recognize Ian Nicolay for his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout.
