PROCLAMATION NO. 2009-11
WHEREAS the conferring of the rank of Eagle Scout is one of the highest awards
that can be bestowed upon a Boy Scout; and
WHEREAS such an award is earned as a result of performing and successfully
completing the rigid requirements exacted to achieve an Eagle Scout
Award; and
WHEREAS as his Eagle Service Project, Matt Neville brought the VIAL of LIFE
project to Walker County to help local EMS better serve our elderly
in emergencies; and

WHEREAS on (February 1, 2009), Matt Neville achieved Eagle Scout Rank;
and
WHEREAS at a Court of Honor to be held at the Robert A. Josey Boy Scout
Lodge in Huntsville, Texas on Sunday, April 19, 2009, an Eagle
Award will be conferred upon Matt Neville; and
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville hereby recognizes this noteworthy
achievement of Matt Neville. Matt characterizes the values that
make a community strong through those values taught and nurtured
through the Boy Scouts: to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly,
courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and
reverent;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as Mayor
of the City of Huntsville, Texas that
April 19, 2009
be declared as :
“Matt Neville Day”
in Huntsville, Walker County, Texas and hereby congratulate and recognize Matt
Neville for his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout.
