The Council met in a regular session with the following members present: COUNCILMEMBERS: Steed Smith OFFICERS: J. Turner Bob Tavenner Kevin Evans, City Manager Mickey Evans Jim Willett Danna Welter, City Secretary Judy Kayse Mac Woodward Thomas Leeper, City Attorney '! Jack Choate Clarence W. Griffin;% 'I WORK SESSION [3:05 p.m. — 5:40 p.m.) City Council held a work session to discuss rate studies (water, wastewater and solid waste) and revenue projections for FY 2005 -06. CALL TO ORDER [6:00 p.m.] Mayor Turner called the regular session to order. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE to US AND TEXAS FLAGS, INVOCATION Ray Black, Director of Parks and Recreation, led the invocation. PUBLIC COMMENTS (Agenda Items Only) None. PRESENTATION a. Proclamation — Cleo Tyson Day. CONSENT AGENDA a. Approve minutes of June 7, 21, 22 and 28, 2005. Councilmember Kayse made a motion to approve the consent agenda and Councilmember Evans seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. STATUTORY AGENDA a. Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Alsay Inc. in the amount of $ 39,280.50 for the repairs of Water Wells # 15 and # 18 to be funded from budgeted funds, as presented by Bill Daugette, Public Services Operations Manager. Water well 15 is located on Boettcher Drive. This well was drilled inl961 and last repaired in 2000. The last repairs to this well included the replacement of the pump and some minor repairs to the shafting and pumping equipment. Water well 18 is located at 3600 IH 45. This well was drilled in 1968 and was last repaired in 2001. The repairs included replacing the pump and some minor repairs to the shafting and pumping equipment. Both of these water wells have been pulled and the pumping equipment have been inspected. The necessary repairs needed to restore these wells to their normal operating capacities have been determined and the following bids were received on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at 2:00 PM. - 1. Alsay Inc. $ 39,280.50 2. Weisinger Water Well $ 42,024.00 3. Smith Pump Co. Inc. $ 43,283.66 b. Discuss and consider retirement package for Public Safety employee. C. Discuss lease of land.
