MINUTES OF THE HUNTSVILLE CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON THE 8TH DAY OF JANUARY 2005, IN THE CITY
HALL, LOCATED AT 1212 AVENUE M IN THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, COUNTY OF WALKER, TEXAS AT 8:00 A.M.
The Council met in a work session with the following members present:

Thomas Leeper, City Attorney
Absent: Steed Smith, Gary Crawford
ELECTION OF ACTING MAYOR
Councilmember Tavenner made a motion to elect Mickey Evans as Acting Mayor, and Councilmember Choate
seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
CALL TO ORDER [8:04 a.m.]
Acting Mayor Mickey Evans called the work session to order.
WORK SESSION
The City Council met in a Joint Work Session with members of the Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of
Adjustment, Board of Adjustment and Appeals, and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
Dr. David Pugh, FAICP, facilitated the morning work session with the following topics:
a. The Plan and the Urban Planner;
b. The Planning Commissioner;
C. Zoning Law; and
d. Subdivision Regulations.
The afternoon session was an interactive discussion between the City Council and the listed Boards and Commissions
with the following topics:
a. Comprehensive Plan;
b. Zoning;
C. Subdivision Regulations;
d. ETJ – Extra - Territorial Jurisdiction;
e. CCN – Certificate of Convenience and Necessity;
f. Annexation;
g. Signs; and
h. Landscaping
Acting Mayor Mickey Evans thanked the members of the boards and commissions for spending theirtime to work with
City Council on these important issues.
Councilmember Kayse made a motion toad ourn the meeting and Councilmember Choate seconded the motion. The
motion passed unanimously.
