Proclamation No. 2023-24 9-11 Nation Moment of Remembrance Proclamation No. 2023-24 WHEREAS joining the Nation in observing the 22nd anniversary of September 11th, 2001, when the United States was struck by the tragedy of the most horrific terrorist attack in history taking the lives of nearly 3,000 individuals; and WHEREAS the entire nation witnessed and shared in the tragedy, but were united under a remarkable spirit of service and compassion that inspired and helped heal the nation; and WHEREAS the City of Huntsville remembers those who lost their lives at the Pentagon, the World Trade Center and in the field in southwest Pennsylvania; and WHEREAS we, as a community wish to honor the heroic service, actions, and sacrifices of first responders, law enforcement personnel, fire fighters, local officials, volunteers, and countless others risking their own lives to be of aid to others; and NOW, THEREFORE, I, Andy Brauninger, Mayor of Huntsville Texas, encourage everyone to observe a Moment of Remembrance on Monday, September 11th, 2023, to unite, reflect, remember and never forget on this 22nd Anniversary and day of remembrance in the City of Huntsville. DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the 11th Day of September as Stop and Remember - 9/11 National Moment of Remembrance
