PUBLIC HEARING
a. Public Hearing to receive comments on amendments to Chapter 24, Land Development, of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Huntsville, Texas to adopt the updated Development Code and Zoning Map
of the City of Huntsville, Texas.

Consent Agenda authorizes the City Manager to implement each item in accordance with staff

a. Consider approving the Minutes from the July 18, 2023 Regular City Council Meeting.

d. Consider Amended Ordinance No. 2023-17 - Ordering a Municipal Special Election to be held on the
7th day of November 2023 for the purpose of voting on the adoption or rejection of proposed Charter

2. STATUTORY AGENDA
a. First Reading - Consider adoption of Ordinance 2023-18, amending Chapter 24, Land Development,
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Huntsville, Texas to adopt the updated Development Code of

the City of Huntsville, Texas.

b. Consider approval of announcing the City Council’s intention to adopt a tax rate in compliance with
the Texas State’s Truth in Taxation laws; a rate not to exceed $0.3425 per $100 valuation for the City’s
2023 – 2024 Fiscal Year (Tax Year 2023). Roll call vote

2127 unconstitutional.

matters; 551.072 – deliberation regarding purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property; 551.073 –
deliberation regarding a prospective gift; 551.074 – personnel matters regarding the appointment, employment,
evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee; 551.076 –
implementation of security personnel or devices; 551.087 – deliberation regarding economic development
negotiation; Sec. 551.089 - deliberation regarding security devices or security audits; and/or other matters as
authorized under the Texas Government Code. If a Closed or Executive session is held in accordance with the
Texas Government Code as set out above, the City Council will reconvene in Open Session to take action, if
necessary, on the items addressed during Executive Session.
