AN ORDINANCE TEMPORARILY AMENDING CHAPTER 44, "TRAFFIC AND
MOTOR VEHICLES ", OF THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, BY AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS AS SET OUT BELOW;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; DECLARING A PENALTY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE,
TEXAS:
PART 1: That Chapter 44, "Traffic and Motor Vehicles ", of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Huntsville, Texas, Article VIII, Section 44 -192, Schedule V,
be temporarily amended as set out in Exhibit "A ", attached hereto and made
a part of this ordinance for all purposes.
PART 2: That if any provisions of any section of this ordinance shall be held to be
void or unconstitutional, such holding shall in no way effect the validity of
the remaining provisions or sections of this ordinance, which shall remain in
full force and effect.
PART 3: That any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof shall be punishable by as set out in Article I, Section 44- 4.Said
Ordinance, being a penal ordinance, becomes effective ten (10) days after its
date of passage by the City Council and expires upon the completion of the
Texas Department of Transportation's project to convert State Highway 19
from a 2 -lane highway to a 4 -lane divided highway facility.

EXHIBIT "A"
That Chapter 44, `Traffic Code ", Article VIII, Section 44 -192 ",of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Huntsville, Texas, is hereby temporarily amended by
amending Schedule V "Speed Limit Zones" by adding the following:
For traffic moving in a southerly direction on SH 19 from Mile Point 11.641
(Reference Marker 430 +1.760) to Mile Point 15.497 (Reference Marker
434 +1.253), the speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour.
For traffic moving in a northerly direction on SH 19 from Mile Point 15.497
(Reference Marker 434 +1.253) to Mile Point 11.641 (Reference Marker
430 +1.760), the speed limit shall be fifty (50) miles per hour.
