RESO 2014-06 - Parks and Recreation board membership - 12/17/2013 RESOLUTION NO. 2014-06 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, AMENDING RESOLUTIONS 82-6, 86-2, 96-16, 98-06, AND 98-10 TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD AND MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS the Huntsville City Council is aware of and concerned about the recreational facility needs of the citizens of the community and desires to devote the necessary attention to assure continued optimum service to the recreation of its citizens; and WHEREAS the City Council created a Parks Advisory Board by Resolution No. 82-6 and revised it by Resolution Nos. 86-2, 96-16, 98-06, and 98-10; and WHEREAS the City now desires to revise those resolutions to amend the overall membership to eleven (11) members, to incorporate services formerly provided by the Beautification Advisory Board. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that: SECTION 1: The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will have nine (9) members appointed in accordance with the City Charter, in addition to the previously stipulated representatives of Huntsville Independent School District and Sam Houston State University. SECTION 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council. PASSED AND APPROVED this 17th day of December 2013.
