Proclamation No. 2022-15
WHEREAS public works professionals focus on infrastructure, facilities, emergency management, and services that are of vital importance to sustainable and resilient communities and
the public health, high quality of life, and well-being of the people of Huntsville; and
WHEREAS public works services include providing and maintaining water, sewer, streets, public buildings, solid waste collection, landfill, wastewater disposal, code enforcement and
engineering to the citizenry in Huntsville; and
WHEREAS it is in the public interest for the citizens, civic leaders, and children in Huntsville to gain knowledge and maintain ongoing interest and understanding of the importance
of public works first responders and public works programs in their respective communities; and
WHEREAS the health, safety and comfort of Huntsville greatly depends on public works facilities and services; and
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville wishes recognize the dedication, talents, and contributions made by Public Works employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Andy Brauninger, Mayor of Huntsville Texas,
DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of May 15-21 as
National Public Works Week
