Proclamation No. 2022-10
WHEREAS John Douch is a Texan and a native of Huntsville, Texas; and
WHEREAS John started roping with ProRodeo Hall of Famer, Joe Beaver, when he was in eighth grade; and
WHEREAS John competed at Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas and was the 2017 reserve tie-down roping champion. In 2019 John finished 16th in world standings in Oklahoma. In 2021 John
was a NFR qualifier and finished 10th in the world. After winning RodeoHouston in March, John is currently the leader in the PRCA world Standings; and
WHEREAS from a young age John has honored and remained dedicated to his sport and sets a great example for young community members to look up to; and
WHEREAS John represents the community of Huntsville with pride, passion and honor; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Andy Brauninger, Mayor of Huntsville Texas,
DO HEREBY PROCLAIM April 6, 2022 as
John Douch, Tie-Down Roping Day
