Proclamation No. 2022-6
WHEREAS libraries are accessible and inclusive places that foster a sense of connection and build community; and
WHEREAS libraries connect people to technology, provide access to broadband internet, computers, and trainings that are critical for accessing education and employment opportunities;
and
WHEREAS liberties strive to develop and maintain programs and collections that are as diverse as the populations they serve and ensure access for all; and
WHEREAS in times of crisis, libraries and library professionals play an invaluable role in supporting their communities both in person and virtually; and
WHEREAS to adapt to our changing world, libraries are expanding their resources and continuing to meet the needs of their patrons; and
WHEREAS libraries, librarians, and library workers are join library supporters and advocates across the nation to celebrate National Library Week.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Andy Brauninger, Mayor of Huntsville Texas,
DO HEREBY PROCLAIM April 3-9, 2022 National Library Week
