WHEREAS the Huntsville High School Girls Varsity Basketball team are the 2021-
2022 District Champions and UIL 5A Region 2 District 16 Bi-District title and
WHEREAS the team was lead by Head Coach LaToya Bennett and Assistant
Coaches, Edward Hawkins, Chris Winn, and Ceidra Coleman and
WHEREAS Players Alyiah Craft, Aubrey Dennis, JaNavia Gage, Xienna Hawkins,
A'Quarius Howard, Kiana Johnson, Treasure Matson, Thania McGowan, Thaniah
McGowan, Markia Sweat and Mahalia Twine, proudly represented their school
and the fighting Hornet spirit and
WHEREAS the team was managed by Alyia Clark, LaShay Henderson, DaRayan
Rolling and Keziah Ross, who were integral to the success of the team and
WHEREAS by working as a team and with dedicated efforts they have
demonstrated that remarkable feats can and be accomplished and
WHEREAS the team finished the season with a record of 23 win - 9 loss overall
record and a 10 win-1 loss District Record,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me
as mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:

in the city of Huntsville and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of the
success of the students and coaches. I
