Susan Fritz and Nicole Clark, elementary teachers at Faith Lutheran School, led their students through several key areas of candidate and electoral processes, creating an enjoyable and memorable experience for the youth. “Thanks to their teachers’ unique and enterprising efforts, the students of Fritz and Clark explored the political landscape, participating in several mock exercises including campaigning, registering to vote, voting at a polling place, preparing and using official ballots and voting in a voting booth,” City Secretary Lee Woodward said. “As we understand it, Fritz and Clark went all out, and their students learned a lot and really enjoyed the process.” The City Secretary’s office actively supports voter education for all residents, especially the youth of Huntsville. Periodically, the office holds “Local Government Day” events for local students, and interested teachers are encouraged to contact Woodward at (936) 291-5403 for more information.
