A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
RENAMING THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE AQUATIC CENTER AS THE
FRANK D. "PONCHO" ROBERTS AQUATIC CENTER
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville is extremely grateful for the dedicated and continued
support of the community by Frank D. "Poncho" Roberts; and,
WHEREAS Poncho Roberts was instrumental in the tireless fundraising and awareness
efforts necessary for the Aquatic Center to become a reality; exhibiting
endurance and fortitude to bring together the teams, supporters, and change
agents invaluable to such a project; and,
WHEREAS the City Council has determined that the efforts of Poncho Roberts on behalf of
the Aquatic Center in particular and for the community as a whole should be
recognized and honored and that the renaming of the City of Huntsville Aquatic
Center accomplishes that purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville, Texas, that:

The City of Huntsville Aquatic Center is now to be named and called the Frank D.
"Poncho" Roberts Aquatic Center.
The City Council directs City staff to take all necessary action to change the name
on current signs, documents, brochures, and other materials and media, current
and future, and to notify all appropriate entities and agencies of the name
change.
