A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, ACCEPTING A BID FOR
THE SALE OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2257 SAM HOUSTON AVENUE, MORE
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ARMY RESERVE BUILDING AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER, CITY
ATTORNEY AND/OR THE CITY SECRETARY TO SIGN ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO COMPLETE
THE SALE.
WHEREAS the City of Huntsville, Texas (the "City"), is duly incorporated under the general laws of the
State of Texas and is operating as a home-rule municipality of the State of Texas, and
authorized to sell real property for public purposes;and
WHEREAS the City has determined that it wishes to sell the real property ('the Property") that is
located within the City corporate boundaries and more particularly described as 2257 Sam
Houston Avenue,more commonly known as the Army Reserve Building; and
WHEREAS the City has determined it has the authority to sell the Property pursuant to the City Charter
and that all requisites to sell the property have been followed; and
WHEREAS the City has determined that the sale of the Property will be a benefit to the citizens of
Huntsville.
NOW,THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville,Texas,that:
SECTION 1: That the above findings of fact are adopted by the City Council.
SECTION 2: A bid in the amount of$650,000 was submitted in accordance with Section 14.13 of the City
of Huntsville Charter, as well as Chapter 272 of the Local Government Code by Maalouf
Properties, LLC.
SECTION 3; That the City approves the sale of the Property for the price of $650,000 to Maalouf
Properties, LLC.
SECTION 4: That the City Manager, City Attorney and/or the City Secretary be and hereby are
authorized to sign all necessary documents to accomplish the sale of the property subject to
final approval of documents by the City Attorney.
SECTION 5: That the City Manager, City Attorney and City Secretary be and hereby are authorized and
directed to report back to City Council at a properly noticed and published meeting to
report on their progress, and any other relevant matters, including the final sale of the
property.
