RESO 2013-09 - Main Street sidewalks - 5/7/2013 RESOLUTION NO. 2013-09
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS,
AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO PAVING DESIGN PLUS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SIDEWALK IN MAIN STREET.
WHEREAS the City desires to develop a viable urban community, including decent housing, a
suitable living environment,and expanding economic opportunities,;and
WHEREAS certain conditions exist which represent a threat to public health and safety;and
WHEREAS it is necessary and in the best interests of Huntsville to improve the Main Street
area;
NOW,THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Huntsville,Texas,that:
SECTION 1: The City Council has received funding from the Texas Department of Agriculture
Texas Capital Fund Main Street Improvement Grant for construction costs.
SECTION 2: The City Council has reviewed and hereby awards a contract to Paving Design Plus
for$157,048.80 for construction of the improvements to Main Street.
SECTION 3; The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to act on the City's behalf in all
matters pertaining to this contract.
