WHEREAS the Bell Tower at Sam Houston State University is featured on the cover of the new 2009
AT &T Real Yellow Pages directory serving the Huntsville area ; and
WHEREAS the tower, dedicated in 2005, serves as a focal point for the university and has become a
recognizable landmark in the community; and
WHEREAS the more than 50,000 copies of this AT &T Real Yellow Pages directory have been produced
for distribution in the area this year; and
WHEREAS AT &T has become a sponsor of the SHSUfootball scoreboard, and the AT &T Real Yellow
Pages has been a sponsor the scoreboard in Johnson Coliseum; and
WHEREAS AT &T Director of External Affairs Whitney Whitmire and Houston Area Marketing
Manager Edwin Graves have joined us today to celebrate AT &T's support of Sam Houston
State University;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBYPROCLAIMED, by the power vested in me as
Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Texas that:

be declared: "AT &T Day at Sam Houston State University"
in the City of Huntsville and call upon our citizens to join in the celebration of this
meaningful establishment in our community.
