ORD CC 1980-69 - Redistricting Council wardsORDINANCE NO. 80-69 • AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE, TEXAS, REDISTRICTING COUNCIL WARDS NOS. 1, 2, 3 AND 4 BY THE ADDITION AND DELETION OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES; REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE 8E8EnF, WHEREAS Section 4.05 of the City Charter of the City of Huntsville provides that Council may redistrict the City; and WHEREAS it is necessary to include the newly annexed territory described herein in a Council Ward; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 8OY0SVIIJ.n, TEXAS: Section 1: Council Ward No. 1 is hereby redistricted by the addition of certain property that is described as follows: (See Exhibit "A" attached) Section 2: Council Ward No. 1 is hereby redistricted by the deletion of certain property that is described as follows: (See Exhibit `°g" attached) Section 3: Council Ward No. 2 is hereby redistricted by the addition of certain property that is described as follows: (See Exhibit ''C" attached) Section 4: Council Ward No. 3 is hereby redistricted by the addition of certain property that is described as follows: (See Exhibit "D" attached) Section 5: Council Ward No. 4 is hereby redistricted by the addition of certain property that is described as follows: (See Exhibit "E" attached) Section 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby repealed; provided, however, that such re- peal shall be only to the extent of such iocooaioteocy.aod in all other respects this ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance. Section 7: If any provision, section, exception, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to any person or set of circumstances, shall for any reason be held unconstitutional, void or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their application to other persons or sets of circumstances and to this end all provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. 1■1111111N■111111•■••■■••■■■■■■■..------ • • • Section 8: This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and the City Secretary is hereby directed to publish the caption of this ordinance at least once in the official newspaper of the City of Huntsville.
