ORDINANCE NO. 80-28
ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF
INTENTION TO ISSUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLIGATION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntsville,
Texas, has heretofore found and determined, and hereby af-
firmatively finds and determines, that it is necessary and
desirable for said City to construct public works and purchase
equipment for said City, including the payment of contractual
obligations for professional services in connection therewith,
to-wit: constructing and equipping a jail for said City, and
that certificates of obligation be issued by the City to pay
for all or any part of the cost of same; and
WHEREAS, said City Council wishes to proceed with
authorizing the publication of notice of the City's intention
to issue such certificates of obligation; Now, Therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITy, OF
HUNTSVILLE:
Section 1. That the facts and recitations contained in
the preamble oft.this ordinance are hereby found and declared to
be true and correct.
Section 2. That the City Secretary is hereby authorized
and directed to cause to be published in the manner required by
law a notice of intention to issue certificates of obligation
in substantially the following form:
Section 3. That the Notice set forth in Section 2 of this
ordinance shall be given in accordance with Article 2368a.1,
V.T.C.S., and shall be published in the English and Spanish
languages, respectively, in The Huntsville Item, the City's
offi6ial newspaper, same being a newspaper as defined by
Article 28a, V.T.C.S., and published and of general
circulation in the City of Huntsville, once a week-for two (2)
consecutive weeks, the date of the first publication to be at
least fourteen (14) days prior to the date set for the issuance
of said certificates.
Section 4. That all ordinances or resolutions or parts of
ordinances or resolutions heretofore adopted by this City
Council and in conflict or inconsistent with the terms of this
ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict or
inconsistency.
